Cheryl Crompton

Executive Summary

Cheryl Crompton is a senior policy and strategy professional with an interdisciplinary background spanning health sciences, scientific research, health care delivery, government, academia and program management. In her current role as a Senior Resource Planning and Policy Advisor with the Government of Canada, she provides risk-based analysis, strategic planning, performance reporting and executive decision support for complex programmes and organisational priorities. She has also held acting leadership roles, led multidisciplinary teams, developed policy and programme frameworks and translated complex scientific, operational and financial information into clear recommendations for senior decision-makers.

Her academic foundation includes an Honours degree in Biochemistry and Nutrition and graduate-level research in molecular biology. She is currently pursuing an MSc in Health: Science, Technology and Policy at Carleton University. Her current interests focus on health technology assessment, real-world evidence, clinical research, emerging biologics and precision medicines as well as the design of evidence systems that support innovation through to implementation. She is particularly interested in strengthening the connection between research, policy, implementation and health outcomes, including how new technologies can be evaluated and integrated into health systems in ways that are effective, equitable, sustainable and responsive to end users and community needs.

Cheryl brings a practical, systems-level perspective to advisory work, combining scientific literacy, public-sector governance, strategic risk management, quality improvement, stakeholder engagement and lived experience across health care and research environments. She will contribute to the ICARHIS Advisory Board through thoughtful analysis, constructive challenge, interdisciplinary collaboration and a strong commitment to ensuring that research and innovation translate into meaningful improvements in health policy, service delivery and user access.
