Anastasiia Karpenko

Executive Summary

Opera singer and artist Anastasiia Karpenko was born in 1997 into a family of musicians in Ukraine, her motherland. She commenced playing piano at the age of 5 years; her first music teacher was her grandmother, Galyna Martynova.

As a young adult, she has won numerous prestigious competitions in Ukraine, including, amongst others, the "Golden Voice of Artek" and the "Borys Hmyria" competitions. From 2012 to 2014, Anastasiia studied conducting and solo singing at the Glinka Music Academy. In 2016, she won a scholarship from PrivatBank of Ukraine that enabled her to study in the singing class of Melba Ramos at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria. In 2021, as a young soprano, Anastasiia made her debut as Queen of the Night at the Jerusalem Lyric Opera Festival conducted by Nir Kabaretti. Her more recent performance with internationally acclaimed Mexican tenor Jesús León with the Dnipro Philharmonic Orchestra received a warm standing ovation from the public and excellent reviews from the critics. In August 2023, she made her debut in Glück's Orfeo ed Euridice as Amore and Euridice, in Greece.

Anastasia also devotes herself to painting, displaying her work in exhibitions and galleries in Austria and Germany. Apart from her artistic career, Anastasiia has a strong interest in the protection and preservation of our forests and wildlife and their direct impacts on human and environmental health.
